The 6×17 aspect ratio, inherited from medium-format film, allows me to do full justice to the subjects that lend themselves to it.

Whether it is nature or the urban environment, every subject I choose finds its place within it.

An urban subject, isolated within the frame or filling the entire image on its own, becomes a true scene that unfolds before the eye. The choice of moment is then essential to obtain the softest light, the one that provides the most beautiful setting for subjects that, in broad daylight, do not hold our attention in the same way.

Landscape, by contrast, most often fills the whole frame, and the format makes its immensity felt. In both cases, the seemingly deserted space completes the effect, making each image silent.
